The Colors of Fall

Our senses have been assaulted.

We've been inundated with politics, and everyone screaming at each other. The world has experienced extreme illness and loss with pandemic. As if that isn't enough the earth has experienced devastating fires and floods.

And then things change, the cycle of life shifts and continues.

Here in the NE Mother Nature is giving us respite from all these assaults. She is helping our senses to calm down, rest and recharge.

The mornings start with a gentle fog shrouding the rising sun, resting on top of the tree boughs, curling atop the pond. This gives us time to awaken and gently acclimate to a new day in a softer way. The drive to work is slower, peaceful and quiet.

Leaves fall, creating a song of their own. We actually need to sit still to hear it and it's so soothing.

All the colors are tonal. This too gives ease to the eyes and mind.

Respite from life, found in nature, found in the Colors of Fall.

Trust

It is a word defined as a belief in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of another.

To trust, truth is always required.

It takes time to build trust and it takes repetition of experiences together in order for that to happen.

It requires some form of proof.

This stone whispered to me a clean design. Enhance the gold within the stone with gold.

Trust me I said! The design will make the stone pop!

Truthfully, caregiving is exhausting and sometimes I know something in a design isn't quite right, but fatigue is too powerful.

There was hesitancy, I could sense it.

"Tell me the truth," I asked.

She did, and I agreed!

What a relief, I got to work immediately and changed it. The change was minimal, the impact of the design though was huge.

I knew she'd be happy with the design in the end because I sent photos of similar designs, thus proof of experience.

Finally it was done!

This ring was made with complete, and total truth and trust!

Synchronicity

As I design a series of koi I contact the next person on my list. They choose a design. I had such an incredibly strong feeling about who should get this one, but I said nothing to her. It's always the choice of the future owner.

She choose this one.

Once I finished she sent a photo of her kittie!

It is the deep, mystical connection that so often occurs in my work for others that I enjoy the most!
